Michael Snyder <![CDATA[Finally got time to write another post]]> http://www.michael-snyder.com/?p=21 2007-09-05T17:55:45Z 2007-09-05T17:52:26Z Well it has been awhile since I have written a post. As I said in previous posts I have not had much free time this summer and now it is over. I just wanted to write a quick post and put up another picture that I took while I was in Ocean Isle, NC a few weeks ago. This by far is one of my favorite pictures I have taken. I am also in the process of getting my full photo gallery up and running again, I just have had a few technical issues. Anyway here is the picture, and by the way for all you college football fans out there, Michigan lost its home opener to Appalachian State, while my Nittany Lions trounced FIU. This weekend should be a tougher battle for the Lions against Notre Dame, I just hope we come away with a win.

Michael Snyder <![CDATA[Pictures]]> http://www.michael-snyder.com/?p=20 2007-07-31T14:42:22Z 2007-07-31T14:08:51Z I have been really getting into photography lately. I just bought myself a new Nikon D40x camera and a few extra lenses to go with it. I never realized how much money you could dump into getting a decent DSLR camera and some standard lenses for it. I have to say that overall I am very impressed with the functionality and quality of the camera I purchased. I did a lot of research before purchasing this camera, I looked into the extremely popular Canon Rebel XTI, Olympus, and Pentax. My previous experience had all been with Nikon and the former Minolta cameras, so I decided to go with the Nikon. Nikon has a long history of quality and excellence with their camera’s and lenses (which was the primary factor I chose them). Now some people may be wondering why I only purchased the D40x instead of going to something like the D80, but I figured that this would be a great camera to learn with and the price was pretty good. I have noticed a few features which are missing on my camera that are on the higher end models such as autofocus for lenses without their own motor and some other features. Overall I think this is great camera and eventually I may move up to the D80 or a similar Nikon model especially since the lenses I purchases for this camera will work on any of the Nikon DSLR camera’s. Here is a picture I took last night of the full moon. It isn’t the best picture, but I am starting to learn more about lighting, shutter speeds, aperture, and other details that help me get the most out of my camera.

Michael Snyder <![CDATA[Nothing New]]> http://www.michael-snyder.com/?p=19 2007-07-31T14:09:52Z 2007-07-26T14:52:06Z Well I haven’t posted for a little while so I just figured I would give an update on what I have been up to lately. The past couple of weekends I have been really busy, I have been camping at a wedding in Virginia, a Bachelor Party for my friend Erik, Camping at Black Moshannon, and Duncansville Community Days last weekend. This is the only weekend that I actually don’t have a whole lot going on but I am sure something with come up. August is going to be an extremely busy month, I have got another Bachelor Party for my cousin David, going camping at Cook’s Forest, leaving for Ocean Isle, NC on the 17th of August, and the day after we are coming back from there, my friend Erik is getting married, and then the following weekend is David’s wedding. I am really anxious to go to the beach, I think myself and everyone else who is going will have a really good time. Well that is all I am going to write for now, hope I didn’t bore my readers too much.

Michael Snyder <![CDATA[Moved to new webserver]]> http://www.michael-snyder.com/?p=18 2007-07-31T14:10:02Z 2007-07-02T16:43:48Z I have decided to move all of my website to a hosted webserver. I like the ability to manage my own settings and customize, but sometimes the benefits of having another company host the site versus me doing it myself is much more convienient. The rate that this company offers on web hosting is pretty much unbeatable as far as I have found. I get 2 domains, mysql/php, email, among many other things for $4.99/month. If you are interested in getting your own site or domain let me know so I can help you out.
